24 Weeks – Pregnancy Roller Coaster – Personal Post

Weeks 23 and 24 of this pregnancy have been a roller coaster ride for me. On the upside, Baby girl is certainly showing herself. The bump is getting bigger every day and so far, I’m still pretty comfortable. I’m still running and got some pretty interesting looks from a few college girls this week. Fortunately, the majority of my workout clothes still fit me too so hoping that works out for a least a few more weeks before I need to invest in some larger clothes. On a sad note, my FAVORITE pair of pre-pregnancy jeans are officially out of commission until after the baby. I do however have one last pair of pre-pregnancy jeans that still fit and I can still button! But, they aren’t very comfortable, so I’m guessing those will be retried this week also. Good thing I have a pair of GAP Maternity jeans on their way to me right now!

Another positive, my mom and I tackled the registry last week and kicked it’s butt! So I now feel at least somewhat prepared. Not that I will know what to do with anything once I have it, but at least I’ll have it. Making more headway on Baby Girl’s Nursery as well:)

I’ve had a pretty easy pregnancy so I really can’t complain, but for someone who has had total control over her body her entire life it’s been a tough transition. I’ve been ALOT hungrier the last 6 weeks and dessert has become a regular occurrence. I know I need to eat more for this little lady, but I also need to really make sure I’m eating healthy stuff. My workouts aren’t the same, which I knew was a reality of pregnancy, but it’s hard to turn off that ‘GO’ mode and switch into more of a ‘CRUISE’ mode. It’s a struggle some times….ok, all the time……but I know it’s for a good cause and once Baby Girl is here I can go back to my crazy self. (At least that’s what I keep telling myself to keep me sane).

So only a few more weeks and we’ll be officially in the 3rd trimester! I felt like we had all the time in the world and how I feel like it’s going to go so, so FAST.

Here are the pics my loving husband took for Week 23 and Week 24. You will probably see a lot of striped shirts in the next 16 weeks since that seems to be my favorite thing to buy lately:)

emily b - You are SO cute! So here’s my preggo-jeans tip: You can eek out a few more weeks in your pre-pregnancy jeans with a good ol’ fat rubberband or hair elastic. Just thread it through your buttonhole, then loop both ends around your button. It will keep your pants from falling down but it will give you another inch or two – plus it’s elastic, so it will move with you and the baby! (TMI: I still use this trick post baby (yes, even 4 years later) with my “new” belly. As long as you are wearing a long enough shirt, no one even notices!)
