Location! Location! Location!
I currently shoot on location only and prefer to capture candids and natural interactions between family members though I will do some posing and set-up some of the shots as well. I love taking photographs in the great outdoors – whether it be parks, cityscapes or quaint little towns. I also enjoy taking photos in the comfort of your home or locations that are special to you and your family. I strive to capture who you are and the things that make you and your family special and unique. Natural environments = Natural Reactions and Personality!
What to wear (or NOT to wear)
Dress comfortably and appropriate for the weather! I tend to suggest that families don’t do the whole ‘matchey-matchey’ thing. Parents and older siblings should stick to solid colors and subtle patterns that compliment each other. Avoid graphics and bold logos. Children can get away with most anything – bold patterns and colors or subdued tones and cute designs (teddy bears!). For newborns and small children, I do have props such as cute little hats and tutus for the little gals!
It’s all about you!
I’m open to suggestions! If you have strong ideas about the look you are going for, we can discuss this before the session. And during the session, feel free to speak up and make suggestions. We all look at the world in different ways and I want your images to reflect how you and your family view the world.
During the Session
Sessions can take anywhere from 1-3 hours. I allow plenty of time for changing locations and outfits, allowing for playtime for the kids and feedings/changing for newborns and babies. I want the experience to be comfortable and relaxed for everyone. This a no pressure, fun session that can go as fast or as long as it takes to get the images I’ve committed to providing to you and your family. And, I love meeting new people and getting to know your family – the more time we spend together, the more I get to know you and your family.
Booking Policies
Session fee and Contract is due 10 days after we select a date. I cannot hold the date past the 10 day window. The session fee is non-refundable, but I do allow for rescheduling. If you have a conflict, please reschedule at least 48 hours prior to your session. Of course life is not always predictable and scheduled. If someone is sick or life just ‘happens’, contact me as soon as possible and we can reschedule. Once we have booked your session, we’ll discuss all the fun details – like location, clothing, etc…
If you purchase a digital portrait package, I will provide you with an online download of all your images approximately 2-3 weeks after your session.
If you purchase a traditional portrait package, I will provide you with an online gallery in which you have 30 days to make your purchase decisions. Once your gallery has expired, it is an additional $25 for every week (7 days) I continue to keep the gallery active. No image files or prints will be released until payment for purchase has been collected.
